Radiation Threat

What is a Radiation Threat?

A radiation threat is typically a common explosive intended to spread radioactive materials in, around, or over a specific targeted area.  The after math, also known is a "Dirty Bomb", may cause a more localized contamination by the radioactive material.

How is radioactive material detected?

Although an explosion would be apparent to an individual, the radioactive material may not be.  Radioactive material is not normally detected until trained personnel have come on the scene and have been able to determine what the material is with their specialized equipment.  This may take some time to determine.

What do I do if there has been an explosion?

The best thing to do if you have been near an explosion is to get your self to a safe location.  Remove yourself as far from the location of the explosion as quickly as possible.
