This program’s goal is to minimize potential health
hazards and prevent environmental illnesses and injuries
at public swimming pools, spas, and bathing beaches by
enforcement of Part 6, Subpart 6-1 and 6-2 of the New
York State Sanitary Code. |

This program provides services in
the following areas: |

Issues annual permits for
operation.

Conducts inspections of public
bathing beaches and swimming
pools.

Checks chemistry of public
swimming pools.

Collects water samples from
public bathing beaches.
-
Responds to complaints and
conduct investigations.
-
Reviews plans for new swimming
pools and bathing beaches.
-
Performs enforcement actions.
