developed into one of the finest and most highly respected Sheriff's Offices in the country.
The Cayuga County Sheriff's Office jurisdiction covers 700 square miles and protects 82,000 people.
Sheriff's Responsibilities: Chief Law Enforcement Officer for all of Cayuga County with
oversight of 170 Employees in numerous Divisions of the Sheriff's Office. |
We operate a state of the art Custody Facility with a 214 bed capacity.
We also protect and serve the public with a Law Enforcement Division, Civil Bureau, Marine Unit and provide
Security for the Court system in Auburn.

In addition we provide many community oriented programs such as: DARE, SRO: School Resource Officer, Community
Policing, VINE: Victim Notification Network, AED: Auto External Defibrillator, Inmate Community Services,
Neighborhood Watch, Law Enforcement Explorer Post, New Visions Education, STOP DWI, STOPPED: Young Drivers
Accepting Responsibility, Child Safety and Booster Seat Fitting, Web Based Sex Offender Registry, and
instructional programs in Snowmobile, Boating, ATV and Handgun Safety.
